My favorite thing to do on a cold December night is to curl up with some homemade hot coco and freshly popped popcorn. For me, this an ultimate relaxer. Especially when my favorite Christmas movie is playing. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. So, now that I got you all excited and wanting homemade hot coco and popcorn let me run through the steps and ingredients to make these delicious dynamic duos.
Homemade Hot Chocolate
1 Serving
• 1/4 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
• 1 Cup of Milk
Optional Ingredients
• Cinnamon
• Redi Whip
Heat the milk in a small pot on the stove. Mix together the cocoa and sugar in a seperate bowl. When the milk is on the verge of boiling slowly add in the cocoa and sugar mixture and stir. Then add the vanilla extract and stir until all added ingredients are desolved.
Now this was a bit to chocolaty for me so I added some half & half but milk would work as well.
After all was done I poured it into a mug and added whipped topping and sprinkled cinnamon.
Stove Made Popcorn
2 Servings
• 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil
• 1/4 Tablespoon of Sea Salt
• 1/2 of Corn Kernels
• 4 Tablespoons of butter or half a stick
Put the corn kernels, sea salt, and coconut oil in a medium size pot that has a lid on medium heat. And stir until the coconut oil is melted and the kernels begin to pop. While the popcorn is popping put the half of stick of butter in to a cup and heat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. You will know when the popcorn is done because it will no longer be popping. At this point put the popcorn into a big bowl and slowly add the butter while mixing the popcorn around to make sure the butter isn't just on the top. Then if more sea salt is wanted, for me it always is, slowly sprinkle the sea salt while mixing it in with the popcorn. Stop when it is good to your tasting.
Now post a picture of what you just made to instagram and go snuggle up on the couch to your favorite Christmas movie or just your favorite movie. And Enjoy!!! :)
Love Always,
